Your career can now continue through three NFL seasons, including each season’s championship when your team qualifies. Year four stays locked while the next chapter is developed.
Earn your place, then keep it
Years two and three show your current role and the next opportunity before camp. A reserve can work toward regular snaps; a starter can defend the job. The actual season result shows promotions, setbacks and the role you kept.
Your personal challenge and the team’s win or loss stay separate. Entering another year does not automatically make you a starter.
Make your signature visible
Three specialty training camps and both relevant skills at 64 or above can unlock your signature. All nine playing styles can reach it within the first three seasons, but it still depends on your choices and growth.
The first unlock gets a gold reveal, including when a play raises your skills across the threshold. Story results also give it their own headline. On the field, the actual signature route is marked with a star; using it appears in the play result. Its extra reach and execution follow the existing football rules. A move unlocked during a play becomes available for the next play; it does not change the one you just completed.
The progress card also tells you when the remaining specialty camps need the next chapter. Year four is still locked.
New situations without a longer season
There are 48 new events for established players: defenders copying your first step, younger teammates following your routine, competing practice requests and sponsor interviews. The starter pool now has 33 events and the core-player pool has 27. Players still earning a role can draw from the 36-event rookie pool.
Ordinary events and team-promise opportunities share the existing slot in all three seasons. Low-health injuries still take priority. Every new event has a matching result scene, including slower review when a rep fails.
Another 18 situations add crowd-noise signals, wet starting marks, narrow sidelines, helping a rookie, delayed buses and interrupted practice calls. Whistles, play wristbands and training pads give the results their own visual details. Twelve more situations add changing wind, replacement gloves, mismatched timing, long bus rides, reading defenders without jersey numbers and competing appointments. Windsocks, gloves and resistance bands appear in the matching results. These use the same event slot, so the larger pool does not make a season longer.
Short deals can continue
If your contract ends before year three, you can compare the real team, salary, term and projected role for each offer. Signing leads back to camp. A projected role still has to be earned; annual salary is not an instant payment for the whole contract.
Growth stays in the same player panel. Meaningful recovery, failed practice and contract onboarding can build your player; confirming a result does not award another bonus. The page header now shows your career season even after a team change.
