Quarterback: the long game
Arm talent, accuracy and mobility are your quarterback skills, alongside the shared foundation of speed, power, durability and football IQ. Your strengths determine a field general, gunslinger or dual threat starting style. Accuracy affects completion rate, arm talent affects passing efficiency and football IQ affects interception risk. Passing totals are generated from attempts, completion rate and efficiency; aggressive play increases interception risk. The decline curve begins later than at the other two positions.
Running back: make your prime count
Vision, elusiveness, power and speed define your game. Ball security helps you protect the ball. Your strengths determine a one-cut runner, power back or receiving back starting style. Vision affects opportunities while elusiveness and speed affect yards per carry. Rushing yards come from carries and efficiency; touchdowns depend on opportunity and ability. Running backs accrue more wear and peak earlier, making recovery particularly valuable. Receiving backs get more receiving opportunities; elusiveness shapes receptions and speed helps turn catches into yards. Rushing and receiving touchdowns stay separate, and legacy benchmarks use rushing totals.
Wide receiver: earn the opportunity
Routes, hands and separation are your receiver skills, alongside speed, power, durability and football IQ. Your strengths determine a route technician, deep threat or possession receiver starting style. Route running and hands influence receptions; speed, separation and football IQ influence yards per catch. Opportunities and efficiency combine to produce your receiving totals. Team support and coach trust help you earn a role, while durability keeps you available. Receiver careers fall between quarterbacks and running backs in their decline curve.
An archetype is a starting point
After choosing your position, the game assigns an initial playing style from your relevant skills. You do not choose a separate archetype card. Your training choices still shape your development. All three positions can have short careers, long careers or rare legendary runs.
